Personal Blog

1. My purpose for reading the material is because it was an assignment for the class.

2. My learning objectives are to learn what makes an advertisement more appealing to the customers and will draw them into the product.

3. I will know that I have read successfully when I feel that I could make my own advertisement and have it appealing to the audience it is set out to be for.

4. I expect to spend about 20 minutes reading the material.

5. Twofold- a twofold increase in the risk
euphoric- a euphoric sense of freedom
redundancy- the redundancy of 19th century machinery
innumerable- innumerable flags of all colors

6. The structure of the reading is very organized and separated as if each new idea is a new chapter.

7. The article is meant to appeal to audiences who are into art and are likely in a business field. The author talks about advertisement and how to attract customers.

8. The actual amount of time I spent reading the article was 30 minutes.

9. After reading the article I would like to use the idea that was portrayed in the article to advertise a business or product and see how well I took in the information.

10. After reading the article I now will look at pictures more as an advertisement and as an appealing look then just any old image. There is a reason behind every image that a company uses and I now understand that more clearly.

11. Previously I never looked at pictures as more then just a picture. But now I know there are cues in each image that are pointing your eyes to a specific location that the company wants you to see specifically.

12. I have successfully learned how to make an image more appealing to a certain viewing group. The reading took a little bit longer then I expected it to be because I was getting distracted by people talking and moving around in class. I could improve my reading performance next time by doing the reading in the library where it is quiet.
